Cleaning with liquid ozone: what you need to know

Publish Time: 2021-10-19     Origin: Site

The essence of the system is to use liquid (or aqueous) ozone instead of chemical disinfectants. Disinfectants rank first in the 10 most toxic lists, so this is a good starting point. Aqueous or Ozone water sprayer may be the most misunderstood and malicious technology we use, mainly due to the general misunderstanding of ozone. Therefore, this is an over-concerned issue.

To correct the records, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions we received and answered for our customers.

Here is the content list:

l How safe is liquid ozone?

l How does liquid ozone work?

l How long can ozone last?

How safe is liquid ozone?

Liquid ozone is a strong oxidant. However, this does not mean that its aqueous form (ie, aqueous solution) is corrosive or flammable. For residential and commercial cleaning applications, it is completely safe and will not harm your bare skin. It can help kill bacteria that may come into contact with your hands during the cleaning process. Therefore, you do not need to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves as you do with harsh chemical cleaning solutions.

Concerns about Ozone water sprayers often revolve around degassing and gasification, and dissolution at an appropriate level, and spraying under safe pressure are ineffective. In other words, no one died from exposure to liquid ozone, but every day someone died from exposure to household chemicals. Asthma cleaners who use our products say that breathing is perfect after 8 hours of using our products, not the effect of chemicals on breathing at the end of a shift.

How does liquid ozone work?

The ozone water sprayer is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms (O3). It is unstable and quickly decomposes to form free radicals or redox with high redox potential. This is why it is a powerful oxidizer and disinfectant. During the oxidation process, only one oxygen atom is used to form the chemical reaction of hydrogen and OH radicals. Ozone is harmless to the human body and can quickly attack and remove pollutants in contact with it. Oxidation, such as hydrogen peroxide and iodine, react with the cell walls of bacteria and viruses, causing microbial cells to perforate and kill them. Oxidation also removes the electrons in the molecule, eventually deactivating them. In this way, O3 can not only kill bacteria and disease-causing viruses that cause odors but also decompose surface biological substances that provide food for microorganisms.

How long can ozone last?

The half-life of the Ozone water sprayer solution is about 15 minutes (depending on temperature and water quality). It is not radioactive because it seems to mean "half-life", but it is used for the rapid decomposition of ozone. In 15 minutes, half of the solution loses its effectiveness, at which point it is a better cleaning solution than disinfectant for the next few hours.

Unlike chlorine, which always leaves oxidation or disinfection by-products, ozone simply returns to oxygen.

In addition, we also provide Ozone Sanitizing Sprayer, Ozone Sanitizing Machine, etc.
